At Public Vet, we are committed to providing a minimum standard of care for all animals and tailoring care to meet the specific needs of each individual animal. We believe that all animals, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserve access to high-quality veterinary care.
Our Veterinary Health Events are an important part of our mission to serve the communities we work with. These events allow us to provide much-needed care to animals in need, often in areas where access to veterinary services is limited or non-existent. In addition to providing direct care, our events also allow us to collect valuable data on the disease load in the community. This data helps us to identify emerging infectious diseases and other health risks, and to take action to prevent their spread.
We recognize that the majority of emerging infectious diseases come from animal reservoirs, and we believe that by serving a large cross-section of the animal populations, we can help to identify and address the health needs of animals that pose the greatest risks to community health. By working closely with our clients and the communities we serve, we are able to develop targeted interventions that help to improve the health of both animals and people.
At Public Vet, we are proud of the work we do to promote healthy animal companionships and to protect public health. We are committed to continuing to provide high-quality veterinary care and to developing innovative solutions to the health challenges facing our communities.
Public Vet follows the One Health approach to addressing animal welfare issues:
Recognizing that human health (including mental health via the human-animal bond phenomenon), animal health, and ecosystem health are inextricably linked, One Health seeks to promote, improve, and defend the health and well-being of all species by enhancing cooperation and collaboration between physicians, veterinarians, other scientific health and environmental professionals and by promoting strengths in leadership and management to achieve these goals.
